What is The Rustle?

It’s the sound of page turns, of small animals scurrying through the grass, of drawings on loose paper fluttering when you open the studio window. It’s also how I’ve titled this newsletter where I (a picture book illustrator) will share my process and inspirations and reflect on my book-making practice.

About me

I am an award-winning illustrator and author of children’s picture books based in Montreal.

The first picture book I have illustrated, The Magic Cap, written by Mireille Messier, was released in 2023. My second picture book, Le premier arbre de Noël, written by Ovila Fontaine, was published that same year. It was the winner of the prestigious Governor’s General Literary Prize for Young People’s Literature in the Illustrated Books category. An English translation of that book will be released in 2025. My third picture book, Milo the Knight, written by Grégoire Laforce, was released in 2024.

My first picture book as both author and illustrator, Murielle et le mystère, will be published in March of 2025.
